⭐ A5 Omi Emperor Picanha — One of Japan's Three Original Elite Wagyu Brands
Omi Wagyu has a lineage stretching back more than 400 years, making it one of the oldest and most storied Wagyu programs in Japan. Together with Kobe and Matsusaka, Omi is recognized as one of Japan's three original elite Wagyu — the Sandai Wagyu.
Raised in Shiga Prefecture, Japan's most agrarian and pristine region, our Omi Emperor comes from Okaki Farms — a sixth-generation Wagyu operation with over 150 years of livestock expertise. Pure Japanese Black (Kuroge) genetics, small-herd farming, and traditional feeding create beef with unmatched marbling, depth, and cleanliness of flavor.
This A5 Picanha (Coulotte / Rump Cap) is the celebrated triangular cap muscle crowned with a rich, snow-white fat cap that renders beautifully over live fire. Cut to A5 spec — BMS 10-12 — and finished with the buttery texture that has made Omi one of the most sought-after brands in Japan for centuries.
Flavor Profile
- Deep, clean umami with a long finish — the Omi signature
- Low-melting-point marbling that renders into the meat as it cooks
- Signature picanha bite with a soft, buttery pull
- Silky fat cap that self-bastes on the grill
Grill whole Brazilian churrasco-style, slice thick and reverse sear, or portion into steaks. Best served medium-rare. If you love the Ribeye or NY Strip, this is a must-try cut.
