Halal Wagyu & Beef
Every cut on this page is Halal certified with full chain-of-custody documentation. Australian Wagyu across all four label tiers, Black Angus Prime, New Zealand Grass Fed, and Australian lamb — hand-cut in our USDA-approved facility and shipped frozen with dry ice.
What Makes a Cut Halal at Ligma
Halal is a certification, not a guess. We only badge a product Halal when the processor holds Halal certification and the chain of custody is documented end to end. If a cut is not certified, it does not appear on this page — even if the animal or the origin would suggest it qualifies.
What's Halal Certified
- All Australian Wagyu — Blue, Gold, Silver, and Green Label, F4 Purebred
- Black Angus Prime — Australian-sourced
- New Zealand Grass Fed — ribeye, NY strip, tomahawk
- Australian White Lamb Rack
What Is Not Halal
We would rather tell you plainly than let you assume. Japanese Wagyu is not Halal certified — that includes A5, A4, A3, Satsuma, Miyazaki, Kobe, and every Japanese brand we carry. Our pork (Iberico, Kurobuta), wild boar, alligator sausage, and Lamb Merguez are also not Halal. Bundles only carry the Halal badge when every component in the box is certified.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Australian Wagyu Halal?
All Australian Wagyu sold by Ligma Provisions is Halal certified, sourced from approved Australian processors with full chain-of-custody documentation. Australian Wagyu is F4 Purebred, carrying roughly 94% Japanese Wagyu genetics.
Is Japanese A5 Wagyu Halal?
No. Japanese Wagyu, including A5, A4, and A3 grades, is not Halal certified. Japan's beef processing does not follow Halal slaughter requirements. Customers seeking Halal Wagyu should choose Australian Wagyu, which reaches comparable marbling at Blue Label (BMS 9+).
Where can I buy Halal Wagyu online?
Ligma Provisions ships Halal-certified Australian Wagyu to the continental United States. The selection covers all four marbling tiers, from entry-level Green Label (BMS 4/5) through Blue Label (BMS 9+), across ribeye, NY strip, picanha, tomahawk, filet, and specialty cuts.
What is the highest grade of Halal Wagyu available?
Blue Label Australian Wagyu at BMS 9+ is the highest-marbled Halal Wagyu available. Its marbling density is comparable to Japanese A5, which is not Halal certified, making Blue Label the top option for Halal buyers.
Are Ligma Provisions Wagyu bundles Halal?
Only when every component inside the bundle is Halal certified. A bundle containing Japanese Wagyu, pork, or any non-certified item does not carry the Halal badge. This is enforced automatically rather than assessed case by case.
Is grass-fed beef at Ligma Provisions Halal?
Our New Zealand Grass Fed beef is Halal certified, as is our Australian Wagyu Grass Fed line. Look for the Halal badge on the product page to confirm.
