Instead of relying heavily on grain to maximize marbling, Usunaga cattle are raised on a carefully designed diet that includes fermented feed and whisky mash sourced from the legendary Suntory Yamazaki Distillery. The feed blend consists of roughly:

  • 50% fermented feed

  • 30% rice-based nutrition

  • 20% grain

This fermentation-driven program develops greater aromatic depth and savory complexity, creating beef that is exceptionally tender yet more balanced and nuanced than typical ultra-rich Wagyu.
